Sean M. Kelly

Sean M. Kelly is Director for New Business and Development at The Kendal Corporation USA, one of the ten largest and most well respected not-for-profit provider of senior housing and services in the USA. Sean is responsible for leading and managing organisational efforts aimed at creating new opportunities for growth for Kendal while supporting the strategic planning and development endeavours for existing Kendal communities.

Sean is a frequent speaker on matters related to, among other things, senior housing development, emerging trends, organisational management for growth and affiliations and acquisitions.

Dr. Robyn Stone

EXPERT PANEL

Dr. Robyn Stone, a noted researcher and internationally recognised authority on long-term care and aging policy, is the executive director of the Center for Applied Research (formerly the Institute for the Future of Aging Services -IFAS) at LeadingAge (formerly American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging – AAHSA)—the largest membership organisation of non-profit aging services and continuing care retirement communities in the USA. Dr. Stone had developed and directed a number of innovative senior housing programmes. She has held senior research and policy positions in both the U.S. government and the private sector.

Teresa Tsien Wong

EXPERT PANEL

Teresa Tsien Wong is Co-director of the Institute of Active Ageing, Senior Clinical Associate of the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS), Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She is also a part-time lecturer for the MSc in Clinical Gerontology programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She specialises in ageing studies and research, especially in dementia care, carer support and active ageing.

Teresa has been appointed by the Chief Executive as a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee, YauTsimMong South District Committee. She has just completed a six-year term serving as a member of the Community Chest and Guardianship Board. She is an elected member of the Election Committee representing the social welfare sector for 10 years.

Dr. Terry Lum

EXPERT PANEL

Dr. Terry Lum is a Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work and Social Administration and the Director of the Sau Po Center on Ageing at the University of Hong Kong. Before joining the University of Hong Kong in 2011, Dr. Lum was a faculty at the University of Minnesota in the United States.

Dr. Lum is an expert in ageing policy and services. He served on the national advisory committees of the Cash and Counseling Programme and the Institute of Geriatric Social Work in the US. In 2001, Dr. Lum was awarded the prestigious Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar award. In 2011, he was elected as a Fellow by the Gerontological Society of America. Dr. Lum received his B.Soc.Sc. in Economics and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. degree in social work from the Washington University in St. Louis.

Sheila Wee

Sheila Wee has been a professional storyteller since 1999 and has been described as a Godmother of Singapore storytelling. She co-founded Singapore’s first storytelling circle and its first professional storytelling company. She is currently the President of the Storytelling Association (Singapore).

Sheila’s work in Singapore includes performances for museums, schools, conference openings and community events and storytelling skills courses and workshops for adults, teens and children. She also conducts workshops that cover a wide range of storytelling applications, including storytelling for intergenerational bonding, language and literacy development, special needs education, character education, and leadership in organisations.

Jeffrey Tan

EXPERT PANEL

Jeffrey Tan is a trained drama educator and theatre director. He started getting involved with professional theatre at the age of thirteen performing with Act 3 Theatrics. He holds a BA (Drama) from Queensland University of Technology. Jeffrey is the founding President of the Singapore Drama Educators Association, advocating professional training and development for drama educators and teachers. In 2006, Jeffrey won the National Arts Council Scholarship to pursue his Masters (Drama and Theatre Education) at the University of Warwick. While studying, Jeffrey was invited to teach for the Early Childhood department.

Since returning to Singapore, Jeffrey worked on five Singapore Arts Festivals, with the National Arts Council. In 2012, Jeffrey joined the Community Arts and Culture Division, People’s Association and ran three PAssionArts Festival and the very successful OPEN HOMES for the Singapore International Festival of Arts 2015.

Jeffrey is currently Assistant Director, Talent Development and Programming at the National University of Singapore, Centre For the Arts.

Nadina C. Jose, MD

Nadina C. Jose MD has had the unique opportunity of having assumed a variety of roles in the clinical trial enterprise in the past 25 years. In her current position as Managing Director and CEO of Anidan Group Pte Ltd the only Singapore based company whose business is focused on providing integrated oversight solutions for clinical trial management globally to pharmaceutical and biotech companies in order to bring innovative medical innovations to patients in the soonest possible time. She is overall in charge of strategy, operations, business growth and development.

In this capacity she also provides consulting services aside from being a champion of Anidan’s oversight services for large multi-national companies, vendors, investigator sites and other ancillary functions. Some of her current consulting contracts involve regional oversight of clinical excellence operations for study management of medical affairs studies for a large MNC in the APAC region.

As the former Head and Director for Global Clinical Site Management and Monitoring for Allergan in the Asia Pacific Region, she oversaw clinical operations for global research and development focused on investigative site management, territory development, monitoring and quality management. This role likewise demanded expertise in managing multiple vendors in multiple countries across a variety of projects both at the local affiliate level as well as in the global arena.

Kannan Chandran

Kannan Chandran is the founder of E-Quill Media, which produces the award-winning magazine STORM. EQM also publishes SINGAPORE, the magazine of the Singapore International Foundation, and business books for INSEAD and the NUS Business School, among others.

A journalist who started with The Straits Times in 1980, he has been a theatre, film and music critic. In the 1990s he was the Managing Editor of Magazines Incorporated which produced magazines like The Peak, and several publications for corporations like American Express, HSBC and Mercedes-Benz. As a journalist he has interviewed international celebrities and business leaders in various fields.

Kannan has been decorated by the government of Chile for his contributions to journalism. He was the President of the pro-tem committee that established Mensa Singapore. He has kept goal for St. Joseph’s Institution and written songs for regional recording artists.

While his knees may beg to differ, he refuses to accept the fact that growing older slows you down.
